About Bryan Jackson

Bryan is an avid paddler, fisherman and camper. He learned all about the outdoors growing up in Maryland camping, hiking and spelunking in the Blue Ridge  and Catoctin Mountains,  fishing and boating the rivers and creeks of the Chesapeake Bay.  He caught the paddling bug in High School after a class IV whitewater raft trip in SW Pennsylvania.

Bryan is First Aid and Swift Water rescue trained and is a pretty fair outdoor cook, with a specialty in Dutch Oven cooking that has won him an award or two over the years.

Moving to Texas in the early 1990's, he thought that his paddling days would be over, but to his surprise, he found a thriving paddling community and plenty of places to paddle.  He also found the Dallas Down River Club where he has served as Racing Chairman, Membership Chair, Trip Leader, Treasurer and four terms as president.  He currently leads about 10 to 12 trips a year for the DDRC.

Bryan is now ready to share his years of experience with your group or family in the hopes of getting you hooked as well or at least giving you the opportunity to see what paddling has to offer in this area.
